The State Labour Institute, Govt. of West Bengal located in Kankurgachi, Kolkata functions as a training and orientation centre, offering specialized training in the field of HR Development & Labour Welfare. Two regular courses are run by the State Labour Institute –
(a) Post Graduate Diploma in HRD & LW -One year full time day course &
(b) Certificate Course on Construction Safety - Six months’ course.
The State Labour Institute has a comprehensively planned Calendar of Training, Workshops & Seminar on issues relating to Employment, Labour, Social Security, etc. Both induction & in-service trainings are conducted for the Officers & Inspectors of the Labour & Shops & Establishments Directorate under the Labour Department on Enforcement of Labour Laws, duties of the Officers & Inspectors. The training programme are so designed that the officials are prepared to meet the challenges in their day-to-day work.
Special Training Programme in collaboration with ILO & VVGNLI are also conducted in this Institute.
